Pool Leak Detection
Water loss is not always obvious. Our leak visits split plumbing from shell issues, document where we hear loss, and give you a clear repair path.
Homeowners call us when the autofill runs constantly, when chemistry never stabilizes, or when the deck sounds hollow near returns. We treat every visit as a structured diagnostic, not a quick visual guess.
The photos on this page are from real Shiny Pools jobs: trucks on site, hoses staged for pressure work, and crews marking the loudest leak path before any major tear out.
What we are looking for on day one
We start with how the pool loses water: steady drop overnight, loss only when equipment runs, or wet spots that follow rain differently than a true leak. That story tells us whether to prioritize suction lines, pressure side, shell penetrations, or liner seams.
We photograph the waterline, skimmers, lights, and cleaner ports so you have a record of conditions before we isolate lines.
- Skimmer and return behavior under normal pump schedules
- Visible wet areas, deck settlement, or grout cracks that track to plumbing
- Recent openings, equipment swaps, or freeze events that can shift fittings
How we test without guessing
Pressure rigs let us test isolated plumbing segments against a known baseline. When a line fails to hold, we narrow the segment before recommending a repair scope.
Listening equipment traces the loudest leak noise under concrete and tight corners. We mark those coordinates on the deck or coping so repairs target the real loss instead of exploratory demolition.
- Line isolation with documented pressures
- Acoustic passes on high probability zones
- Written summary of the most likely leak path and next repair options
What you receive after the visit
You should leave the appointment understanding what failed, what is still unknown, and what Shiny Pools recommends next. If you want us to perform the repair, we can schedule the same crew that already knows your property.
If another trade opened the deck recently, we still document our findings so your warranty path stays clear.
